The American Dream was painted during the height of lock down and after the dark events of Jan 6th 2021. At a time when the American Dream seemed to be crumbling. It is a meditation on my own experience as an immigrant, experiencing the tension of being both at home in my adopted country and also a stranger in an increasingly strange land.
It is a projection of my hopes for a better future and also an expression of a longing for the past and people that I had left at "home".
