The Emperor's Clothes

The Emperor's Clothes

$3,200.00

Dye sublimation print on custom cut aluminum panel.

Rejection is part of life for an artist and I get used to hearing no more often than yes. Still it can be hard when you put work out into the world and it is rejected, or worse ignored. Confidence can be shaken and it's easy for impostor syndrome to take hold. Is my work any good? Am I going to be judged and found out? Is the Emperor wearing any clothes?

I made this piece during one of those times when I was doing a lot of self questioning. It was like the sun peeking out through a chink in the clouds. A small affirmation that put me back in touch with my creative self.

This print is part of my Pill series. Inspired by my love of music, this series explores the commonalities between music and the visual arts.

Details.

  • Size: 26”x 40” (Need a different size? No problem! Just let me know).

  • Aluminum prints are made to order. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

  • I make only one aluminum print from each digital artwork. Because my digital work has no “original” in the traditional sense, I think of the aluminum print as originals.

  • 1/16" gauge aluminum panel mounted on a 3/4" aluminum frame. The print is also backed with 1/4" Sintra board (rigid PVC) for stability, which is inset 1 1/2" from the edge of the print.

  • Dye Sublimation printing (also known as metal print) is a process of infusing dyes into a sheet of pre-treated aluminum via heat transfer. The process once complete, is permanent and archival up to 65+ years, as tested by Wilhelm imaging research.
