The 2020 lockdown was hard for everyone and they are a constant presence in these paintings. I, like so many people, had family far away. I have a large extended family back in England, My Dad was in a nursing home, suffering from dementia and my kids were missing out on so much in life. These paintings took on a resonance for me as an expression longing for loved ones and for the life that we had lost. They are also an expression of hope for the future, and better times ahead.
