Spider Man was my favorite comic as a kid. Like a lot of ordinary kids, I really identified with Peter Parker. He was the archetypal ordinary boy, who developed extraordinary powers and became special. I loved how that was a double edged sword, making him special and wonderful, but also different and isolated. Reading those comics was a great preparation for the trials of teenage life. This painting feels sort of webby and reminded me a lot of Spidey and turned into an homage to him.
