Signs are all around us they can guide or warn us. They can be subtle or obvious, clear or obscure. it is up to us to pay attention.
I was inspired to paint this when my studio and house was full of my daughter Helena’s paintings of rainbows. Like a lot of kids at that age she was pretty obsessive and rainbows were her thing. I loved getting her little rainbow notes. They were a sign of love, joy and the endless optimism of childhood.

I love playing with simple shapes and vibrant colors and there is nothing more joyful than when that play comes together to create a whole that is seemingly greater than its parts. Art can be a way to glimpse what is possible in what may seem ordinary.
