In these pieces I am really pushing the notion of constraints as a creative tool. for these paintings I established strict rules on what forms and colors I could use and challenged myself to see what I could come up with.
I find that working within constraints and systems can be incredibly liberating and exciting. They are a way of calming the inner dialog and focusing attention onto what is essential.
